Swine Flu Vaccines, 1976

If you never saw the 60 Minutes segment on the 1976 swine flu vaccines connected to Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), you really should take a few minutes and watch it.  I miss decent investigative reporting!

As to the new and improved 2009 swine flu vaccine: "As of November 24, VAERS had received 10 reports of Guillain-Barré syndrome, and two additional reports of possible Guillain-Barré syndrome were identified... VAERS also received 11 reports of anaphylaxis".  "Regarding Guillain-Barré syndrome cases reported after H1N1 vaccination, the currently reported number of cases appears substantially smaller than the number expected..."  That's government speak for "no, no, it wasn't the vaccine that caused or triggered that!"  Same song, second verse.

There have been 13 post vaccination deaths.  CDC points out that 9 of these people were already seriously ill.  That's government speak for "they would have died anyway, the vaccine didn't even hasten their deaths".  They're waiting for information on 3 others.  I suspect they'll be put in that "already ill" category.  1 died in a motor vehicle accident but if you go to the chart it shows this was during the trip leaving the clinic after receiving the shot.

These numbers are low given the number of vaccinations dispensed.  They are NOT low if you're the one who became ill or died.  Survivors will begin to realize this was a virtual repeat of the 1976 vaccination debacle.

"Once a large enough number of vaccine doses have been administered in its member managed care organizations, VSD can better identify associations between vaccination and health events".  Id.  In other words, this mass vaccination program was/is a test run.  Despite all those assurances that there wouldn't be risks of GBS, that the vaccine is essentially safe, without taking proper medical histories or obtaining proper informed consent...  Here we go again and again and again.  Take the shot and we'll sort it out later; er, um, we'll figure out the lies and cover stories later.  They've got cognitive dissonance too and they need to get over it!
