Stealing is Stealing

I was getting ready to call it a night but found reference to this in my email box and it just totally pissed me off.

This woman, Ann Wylene Lam, age 64, sees a dog she decides is neglected and starving so takes it upon herself to feed the dog from JULY to OCTOBER and then STEALS the dog; mind you she had to break a "huge chain"  to do this.  She had taken pictures of the dog.  She even called a friend in advance to declare her intentions of theft.  She obviously knows how to use a phone but doesn't mention any calls to law enforcement or animal control (which indicates to me she didn't make any; surely the reported asked her and the silence on the subject screams the answer).

Ms. Lam: "No, I didn't know I was doing wrong"  What a crock of complete and utter CRAP.  "or this would go this far."  In fact, she was counting that it wouldn't!

"How can you turn your back and walk away, how can you just say, 'Oh well that's their animal,'" she said.  You can walk away because your freedom to do as you please stops at another person's property line.  Herein lies the problem with people who want to treat animals as something other than property.  They think that entitles them to ignore the laws and do as they please with what belongs to another.  It goes so much further than that to people who just feel entitled to do as they please no matter the consequences to other people or THEIR rights.

"If you got a heart, you can't do that."  Don't do the crime if can't do that time!  How about you pick up a phone and call authorities every day until you get some legal help.  Clearly you had PLENTY of time, over 60 days!

"says she would do it all over again"  I have absolutely no doubt.

"If they have to put me in jail, they do," said Lam.  I can only hope and pray they do.  Woman, you had no right, no authority; you're a petty thief who makes me wish for Old Testament punishment of chopping off your hand.  People like her need to get a serious message.  Stealing is stealing.  Go to jail, go directly to jail, do not pass go...

There's a segment of our society that is truly promoting this type of criminal behavior.

Animal Planet's "Animal Cops" show that portrays Houston SPCA (and I'm sure others) as though they were members of law enforcement when they are actually employees and volunteers of a non-profit organization, complete wanna bes.  We've seen the HSPCA in action down here.  We know full well that they act like law enforcement.  They really should be prosecuted for that, for acting under color of law, for violating civil and fundamental rights of citizens.  Of course, I'm not really expecting that since it would require the Harris County DA to recognize that citizens actually have rights and that's highly unlikely.

National Geographic's "Rescue Ink" which appears to be a group of organized thugs who intimidate citizens into giving up their animals or obeying their commands.  "But if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem, so stay out of the way.” — Joe Panz, Leader, Rescue Ink  Am I the only one who sees a threat of criminal violence in there?  "don't care.  We're here for your dog"  These guys shouldn't be on TV.  They should be in jail for the crimes they are committing (surely nationally broadcast video is sufficient evidence) and I'm completely ashamed of National Geo who should be facing charges right along with them.

Hey Joe, come on down to Texas where we have a Castle law.  Let's see how tough you really are in a place where people fight/shoot back, where we have returned to shooting thieves because they've become rampant again, evidence - YOU and your friends.  BTW, can you spell RICO?  I've seen hints of kidnapping, extortion, theft, fraud, and terrorism and I've only watched your blurbs!

And, of course, there's the new HSUS rat out your neighbor program in the guise of rescuing animals from mills.  Yeah, go right ahead and call because that's the death of any animals they find; that's their policy - to kill.  HSUS' idea of "humane" is to kill.

Back to Ms. Lam and the stolen dog...  The dog died on Savannah-Chatham Animal Control's watch.  Of course, the owner has been charged.  The simple truth is we don't have enough information to know if this dog was neglected or not but we do know that Ms. Lam stole the dog.  We do know that the dog was there for well over 2 months and, if it was actually abused or neglected, might well have been saved if Animal Control had been called rather than Ms. Lam's pathetic failed whatever (no, I won't call it rescue or attempted rescue because it was nothing of the kind).  We do know the dog died in the hands of Animal Control just as thousands upon thousands of pets do each and every year.

WE DO KNOW that we need to stop these illegal activities by animal rights groups.  Calling oneself "humane" doesn't make it so and those of us who really do care about animals need you CRIMINAL LUNATICS out of the way so we can get back to caring for animals.
