PETA has announced its annual People of the Year naming Ellen DeGeneres as their Woman of the Year and Tim Gunn (chief creative officer of Liz Claiborne), Man of the Year. Sooooo many who support PETA claim to care about animals so I have dubbed these people “fools” because, if they care for animals AND support PETA, they’d have to be complete idiots. PETA hates animals.
I chose years ago not to wear fur. I don’t need it in a world where there are better options for warmth. I still want leather in my boots though because the synthetics just don't cut it - at least not yet at a reasonable price. My choices; not PETA’s. PETA isn’t always wrong but their long term goals are insupportable for those of us who really care about animals so we mustn’t support them in ANY way. That includes not supporting those who do support them because our support gives them the ability to support PETA.
Ellen DeGeneres, Tim Gunn, and Liz Claiborne are on my DO NOT SUPPORT list. Simple rules… Abuse a human or an animal; lose my support. Support PETA and you lose my support. Yeah, that’s a good deal of the Hollywood and “star” crowd but it’s long past time for them to start using their brains before running their mouths. I wonder how long they would continue to support PETA if every animal owner stopped supporting them. I bet it wouldn’t take long for them to get the message so encourage your friends. Make a real sacrifice for your animals’ future, boycott those who support PETA.
“She [Ellen DeGeneris] made vegan pizza with Chef Wolfgang Puck” Wolfgang, do you have any idea what the cost increases for Meals on Wheels (which you're known to support) will be when all the animals are gone or PETA doubles, triples the cost of meats? Wolfgang, you’re on my list too until you decide to chose better company to keep.
Draw your lines in the sand and make them real lines. Boycott those whose opinions negatively impact the future for your animals!
