Kearney Hearing, Oct. 23, 9 AM

The hearing for possession of Mr. Kearney's animals was continued by J.P. Cooper from the 15th to October 23, 2009, at 9:00 AM.  Mr. Kearney's supporters crowded the courtroom at the last hearing and I can only hope they and more will show up to support him again.  When one stands up to radical fanatics like those in the animal rights movement and the tyrannical humane organizations, one needs all the support one can get!

For those interested in attending, the hearing is before J.P. Gerry Cooper, 140 N. Garland Avenue, Garland, Texas 75040.

"The SPCA had been looking at the Kearney property for four to five years."  Beware, once they have their eyes on you, they're bent on taking your animals from you for their own benefit!

A little reminder on how this works.  First they spy on you, often they seek your cooperation to investigate and "help" you.  Mind you, when you agree, they are actually collecting information, what they will later allege as evidence, but they will do this from a very one sided perspective, no objectivity at all.  At some point, they go to a judge and get a warrant to enter and take your animals.  That warrant is based entirely on their side of the story and you don't get a chance to dispute anything before they cart your animals off.  Emergency hearings can be held within hours.  Why can't an owner accused of 5 years of abuse be given a few hours and a brief hearing before the warrant is issued?  Because they want your animals NOW so they can put out those desperate fund raising pleas!  Then there's a hearing; one that's mostly stacked against you, especially if you cooperated because you thought you were dealing with rational people.  The hearing is within 10 days so, unless you have a lawyer on retainer, you'll be spinning trying to find one.  You can ask for a continuance but it won't be for more than 10 more days; all the while they'll be wracking up exorbitant charges they claim you owe for the care of your animals.

And have you noticed how the media handles the news stories about these?  "SAVED", "RESCUED", SEIZED FROM ABUSIVE OWNER"  This is what is printed in the headlines.  Ditto for what the humane organizations put on their websites and both the media and humane groups then ask us all to send in money for the support and care of the animals.  How often you do you see follow up by them?  Well, the humane organizations never seem to give any at all as to what happens after they've got the animals and our money!  The press isn't much better.  Don't believe me?  Check out the "news" on the SPCA of Texas website.  It's nothing more than a list of seizures: http://www.spca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=NewsHomepage.  Google this: "Earnest Kearney"+"hearing".  Do you see how many reported the original seizures?  Now, count how few even noted the continuation of the hearing!  And you gotta love how how this blogger gave the exact number of each type of animal seized but still managed to round 386 all the way up to 500!!!

I suspect every animal owner in Texas should probably put an attorney on retainer ASAP.
