As always, the US Supreme Court has a full docket for their new term. You may have heard about one of the cases in the media today. It's being portrayed as an "animal abuse" case. However, that is not the case at all. It is a case about whether or not the government has the right to infringe on one's free speech if that speech is objectionable to some or even the vast majority. This is 1 of at least 3 cases before the court about allegedly overreaching laws that preempt speech. One of these cases would actually prevent a lawyer from advising you in certain financial matters.
Supreme Court cases affect each and every one of us. I'll be blogging about these 3 and any others that strike my "fancy" or punch my buttons. I hope you'll consider going through the cases here and let me know which ones punch your buttons and why. I may have the same perspective as you but I can still play the devil's advocate for a good debate on constitutional issues.
