“You have no right whatsoever to make any comments on this issue.” Au contraire my dear Jen. My right to speak freely in this country is well established and protected by the US Constitution. And there are these wonderful forums that give us a place to do so for the price of a bit of our time. This particular place belongs to me and it is YOU who have no right to speak freely here.
“Just the fact that you are making negative comments about the veterinarians that have taken time out of their work schedules and personal lives to volunteer their knowledge and expertise to help save these helpless creatures is sad.” Silly girl, the veterinarians are surely being paid handsomely as experts and, even if they aren’t (which I seriously doubt), they benefit in other ways. What a young and inexperienced person you must be to not know that.
“Veterinarians main concern is the quality of life for the animal.” Silly child, there are many reasons people become members of professions and they aren’t always what the profession’s PR machine declares.
“Well, I must say that it is totally obvious that you have zero knowledge on veterinary medicine.” I DO know that it isn’t as guardian of an animal’s “quality of life”. As an animal owner, that is MY duty and MY right. Veterinarians are but ONE of the professionals I consult in order to accomplish that. In fact, veterinarians are not even the least bit qualified to deal with the majority of welfare and life quality issues. They lack in fundamental understanding of nutrition, husbandry, training, and behavioral matters for animals, to list but a few. Veterinarians are trained in a very specific and limited set of skills that come no where near being sufficiently comprehensive to speak to the overall needs and quality of life for animals, let alone all species of animals.
“Euthanizing a pet is a very difficult decision to make.” Indeed it is and a decision that belongs to the OWNER of the animal; not a group of self-appointed, know nothing, hyper emotional, irrational buttinskies.
“I suggest that you keep your comments to yourself…” Isn’t it wonderful that all you CAN do is “suggest” and even that standing in the comments section is subject to my mere whim? I’m sure you’d really like to dictate but, ah, go back and read the first paragraph above!
“You are a sad, pathetic excuse for a human being” Sweetie, honey, dear, I used to be a practicing attorney, a law clerk and accountant before that. I’ve worked for 3 federal agencies. You’re really going to have to do better than that to get under my skin. Given your emotional tirade that utterly lacks any support whatsoever, I couldn’t care less what your irrational, emotion based opinion is of me.
“Were you there?” That one always makes me laugh. No dear. I was not present and I don’t personally know ANY of the parties involved. That probably makes me more objective than YOU. But, hey, if you were there or have some other reason to have “inside” information, come on back and post it up! Otherwise, perhaps you should post your opinions on your own blog :)
