National Center for Missing Pets?????

This cute face may die tomorrow.

What did she, about 30 pounds and a year old do to possibly deserve death?

She landed in a shelter that has "space constraints"!

No government should be killing animals like this while also seizing and forfeiting animals.  Death over life simply can't be "the answer".  I certainly hope the government within which this girl is sitting isn't one of those actively snatching up animals from owners.  No matter our internal disputes and disagreements on the animal welfare side, may we never lose sight that this is one amongst many of the faces we are fighting to save.

This girl is partly Shiba Inu so needs a special person.  Shibas aren't one of the super easy breeds but they love with all their hearts and will entertain you no end if you're the right kind of person.  If you think you can help this young lady, click here.  For more information on Shiba Inus, see the AKC Information and, most especially, the Misanthropic Shiba.  That Misanthropic Shiba link takes you to one of my most favorite places on the internet; the page that saved my sanity when my first Shiba was causing its loss!  You can see my Queen Sheba, the Shiba Inu, in one of the videos to the right.  I'm happy to say she is now 9 years old (and doing quite well despite the newbie vet caused damages, some of which we will live with forever) and has a new, slightly younger Shiba sister, Akako-san.

There are so many lost pets out there and we must find better ways for them than quick death in shelters...  Why hasn't HSUS taken a tiny part of all those millions they have (or even the cush folks at ASPCA) and set up a centralized lost pet website?  If all the shelters and rescues posted notices in a single place on the Net with a decent search function, I wonder how many more pets could make it HOME.  How much do either of them care if they won't even do that?

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has been with us for 25 years.  Can't some super smart techy get one started for the pets?  Am I asking all that much?
