Judge Says "Guilty" in a Make Believe Trial

Don't trust your soul to no backwoods Southern lawyer

And the judge said, "Guilty," in a make-believe trial,

'Cause the judge in the town's got blood stains on his hands

Reba AND Vicki, now that's a neat video.  Luv that song.

"See, little sister don't miss when she aims her gun."  And that's as it should be ladies, get to the range!

While that's a fun song, make no mistake, our justice system is truly broken!

And it's easy to say "they" do it as if "they", the government, is separate and apart.  But here's the thing, We the People are ultimately in charge and responsible in this country.  Everything "they" do is in our names.  The State of Texas translates directly to We the People of Texas; just as United States translates to We the People of these Great United States.  both the law and the government belong to us and we are responsible for learning what they are and how they work.

I believe we will all be held responsible one day.  Not just for what we do but for what we fail to do.  And that includes failing to object when those who act in our name are imprisoning the innocent and wantonly killing seized animals (amongst other atrocities).

A saying from my childhood is running through my head: "May God forgive them, for they know not what they do."  But I'm not the least bit sure that higher powers forgive knowing, intentional ignorance.  Actually, I hope he/she/they don't.  In fact, I firmly believe he/she/they don't.  Please include prayers for the enlightenment of those who act in all our names.

Blessings to all this Sunday morning and may Spring, due within the week, bring rebirth and enlightenment.
