How Did That Happen?

So if [Rand] Paul's view is controversial enough to dominate cable news and the political blogosphere all day Thursday, how come it wasn't an issue in the month leading up to Kentucky's primary?  "It's hard to say why the national media didn't pick it up," said Bennie Ivory, executive editor of the Courier-Journal.

Oh, no, MEDIA it isn’t difficult to determine how that happened at all!  It happened because most of you don’t do your freaking jobs anymore!!!  The founders of this country gave the media extraordinary protections and with rights come responsibilities.  These days, most of you simply regurgitate whatever some special interest group spews to you without any kind of real investigation at all.  Media bias has evolved into something much worse and it appears that most of you don’t have your brains turned on.

Ivory added that "it's just interesting how this thing has evolved in the last 24 hours."  It’s far more freaking disturbing than it is “interesting”.  Geez, you sound like the twerps on wall street white washing your own industry’s MESS.

"Anyone campaigning to be part of a federal lawmaking institution should expect to be asked, even pressed, on his or her views of the appropriate reach of federal law," [and MSNBC's Rachel] Maddow said.  Yeah, I just hope your colleagues read far enough down to catch that.  Of course, if I were you, I’m not sure I’d consider most of them “colleagues” given their laziness and unwillingness to do their jobs.

It's not uncommon for statewide candidates to face a different level of exposure once they appear on the larger national-media stage.  And that’s a sad reality.  Used to be the local reporters really dug and dug to make their bones.  Now they just spew what they’ve been fed into print or on screen.  So sad and depressing.

Speaking of media regurgitation...  An animal seizure last Friday is quite interesting.

"The animal conditions here are very sad," said Maura Davies, a spokeswoman for the SPCA.

  • Note to John Nielsen at the Dallas Morning News: There is NO “SPCA”; Maura Davies works at SPCA of Texas.
  • Note to Maura: Well, at least you appear to be getting closer to trying to tell the truth but, pray tell, how do “sad conditions” constitute cruelty?  Are you simply incapable of specifying concrete facts that actually meet the statutory requirements for seizing animals?

Ah, well, the photos have been published although they weren’t linked on the SPCAT’s main page.  What’s up with that?  Want to “share” with “friendly” eyes before others?   Do you guys not get how the internet works?  Of course you do since someone promptly published the link to craigslist and I suspect it was one of your own.  It appears the link was also promptly tweeted, FB'd, and otherwise passed around.  So why not just put the link on your main page as usual?

And the pics…  Over half of them are clearly intended to inflame emotions and constitute an attack on the humans and have nothing whatsoever to do with the animals.  The rest don’t come anywhere close to supporting what was “reported” (most likely regurgitation of Maura’s comments to the media).  Sure explains why no photos accompanied the ‘news” reports.

More on this case later.  Unlike the media, I like to gather a few facts and take time to analyze before rushing to publication unlike some who regurgitate the regurgitations and them jump on to cheer the BS allegations.  And it’s really too bad because YesBiscuit! Is capable of so much better analysis than that.

Oh, and the "how did that happen" on this seizure is QUITE interesting and appears to have been based on rescue harassing rescue.  What a load of CRAP!
