15% Dead in 2 Weeks of “Humane” Care!

3,627 reptiles and 293 small mammals have died”  “Attorneys from U.S. Global said they were ‘extremely alarmed”  I’m right there with you!  The animals are dying at over 1% per day, each and every day apparently.  That is alarming and horrific.  And to have been expected by anyone who knew the least bit about exotic animals and being moved in near freezing weather or even one with half a brain turned on who thought it through.  Arlington AC, you don’t get to claim “they came to you that way” as an excuse if that isn't a viable excuse for the business owner.  In fact, as an animal control agency, you should be held to a VERY high standard of care when you choose to snatch up hundreds of thousands of dollars of someone else’s property.  You should be prepared to safeguard and care for the living property you snatch up and the City should stand ready to foot the bill!

I’m even wondering if some of the animals the AC declared dead at the warehouse were merely in hibernation.  It’s certainly becoming clear that Arlington AC and its co-conspirators in this case don’t know SQUAT about exotic animals so it wouldn’t surprise me if they couldn’t tell the difference between hibernating and dead.

And are these animals dead or were they secreted away and sold off?  It’s not as though they are actually under the care and control of AC so they certainly could have been.  We know these non-profit groups are always selling off animals (“adoption fees” my arse!) as well as begging for donations.  HSNT got their “please send money for the exotics” up on their website even though it appears PETA is footing the bill for this 100% (yeah, sure, uh huh)!  Got any proof to offer up because I’m not going to believe a word from any of you sleazes at Arlington AC and I’m not inclined to believe those in "non-profits" (yeah, sure, uh huh; but they have $135/day to pay unlicensed "private investigators") who take from one to sell to another just to feed their own warped agenda!  I want to see the break down of seized, died, and euthanized day by day and broken down by species, caretaker, and location!!!

records showing the purchase of 52,000 crickets a week to feed the animals, mostly reptiles”  So much for not being fed…

Bass estimated the cost of caring for the animals until custody is decided will be about $200,000. He said a $100,000 donation has been received.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has pledged $100,000 for the animals' care, including for transportation and lodging for experts brought in from around the world to assess the animals' health.”  Is this the same $100,000 reported earlier that was reported as “received”?  Is this another $100,000?  If so, wow, PETA and friends willing to put up $200,000?  That will apparently buy some serious government action but then Arlington AC was willing to do it for the first $100,000!  It’s just beyond grossly inappropriate for PETA (or anyone else) to be influencing government actions with funding in this manner!!!!

How much has this debacle cost so far?  I’m guessing that original estimate was low and based on a quick conclusion to the hearing but we’re now 2 weeks out and half a week or more from a decision so what’s the total cost to date?

Beyond that… "PLEDGED", WTF?  PETA CAUSED THIS DEBACLE, Pay the F up you snots!  Either you’re funding this or you’re not!!!  You need to learn to mitigate damages and but fast!

A decision on who will get custody of more than 26,000 animals seized from U.S. Global Exotics by the city isn't likely until next week.

And how many will be DEAD by then?

The animals are being cared for by SPCA workers at an undisclosed location”  Does the judge even know where they are?  Seriously, could the judge even issue a warrant concerning them if needed?

‘’I want an investigation. I believe the seize was more dangerous than any alleged conditions they have been in,’ said Lance Evans
